Project Scope
Gospel To All Peoples started informally in the mid-1990s through a desire to reach out to the isolated tribal groups in rural Maharashtra state in central India. After some success and growth in the local area, GTAP was registered in 1999 as a charitable trust and 14 acres of land were purchased for the future development of the work in the village of Sironcha. It is hoped that this property will eventually be developed into a GTAP Campus as a centre for its activities. Six years ago the Jeevan Jyothi (Light of Life) Children's Home and Orphanage was started up in rented facilities at the request of local village leadership. The Home currently holds 30 children. The campus property is currently being used as farmland to sustain the children's home. GTAP is also working on Bible translation into one of the tribal languages.
In order to keep growing and to set a good example in their community, GTAP has targeted the following areas as priorities for development: 1. Moving the children's home out of inadequate, rented facilities and onto the GTAP campus by providing new facilities which will also accommodate growth, 2. Better organization and modernization of the farming facilities and techniques, 3. An English Medium School to cater to the needs of the local community. 4. Providing space for the needs of the translation work - event space, meetings, workshops, & literature publishing, 5. Site improvements such as roads and landscaping and critical infrastructure for water and waste-water. 6. Power generation area, with options for a "green source" of power such as solar energy. 7. Additionally, future developments such as a health care base and rehabilitation space are felt needs which the GTAP campus may grow in time to meet.
eMi2 has been requested by the GTAP leadership to assist them in planning the development of the campus. The team will visit the project site in Sironcha to develop a Conceptual Design for the purpose. The trip will take place in hot & dry weather conditions and the team's routine will be adjusted to the same. The project team will assemble in Delhi and will travel to the project area by rail. Join our team as we venture into the rural heart of India this summer!
